We're looking for a motivated systems architect to help extend our core hardware capabilities. You'll participate in developing architectural specifications in a culture focused on HW/SW co-design. We are looking for an individual with a passion for innovation and a strong background that includes computer science and computer system architecture design fundamentals.
We are a cross-discipline team in the Azure Hardware Architecture Group with a collaborative culture and a strong track record of delivering strategic impact to Microsoft.
As part of the Cloud Accelerated Systems and Technologies team, you would join a cross-discipline team of highly capable and motivated people in the Azure Hardware Architecture Group. You will be expected to collaborate across multiple workstreams with a variety of Azure teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills are important to be able to work with these partners and our customers.

Job responsibilities include:
• Co-architect control plane hardware/software interfaces for network connected accelerators.
• Collaborate with software teams to define hardware requirements for control plane execution platforms
• Contribute to the definition of the next generation of Azure accelerators
• Develop cost/performance models for system designs
Required Qualifications
• BS degree in CS, CE, EE, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience related to hardware/software systems design
Preferred Qualifications
• MS or PhD degree in CS, CE, EE, or related field
• Post-academic background in computer system architecture
• Demonstrated experience with hardware/software system co-design and development
• Familiarity with distributed software system concepts
• Experience with network connected accelerators
• Familiarity with cloud control plane software architecture
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work across teams
