About Group Finance and Investment
Group Finance and Investment (GFI) is a trusted advisor to the Transport cluster, and partners with our stakeholders to make all financial and funding considerations for our once-in-a-generation $71.5 billion infrastructure program.
We provide best in class financial services to support decision-making on transport services, infrastructure investment and delivery. GFI plays a critical role in project planning and funding, enterprise planning and financial management and control.

About the team
This team is a dynamic and highly collaborative team of Accounting professionals, where you will have the opportunity to gain significant exposure to a broad range of teams across the Transport cluster.
The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to join the Enterprise Planning, Budgeting & Analysis team as Senior Financial Analysts.
The role provides a range of financial management services to meet internal and external reporting and analysis requirements, statutory compliance requirements and support the achievement of business objectives.
You’ll provide critical support to, and work closely with, the Finance Business Partnering Branch to support our stakeholders across the business.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Driving legislative and accounting standard compliance with the achievement of business needs in line business principles by implementing and monitoring financial policies, guidelines and business rules.
Prepare and provide detailed "bottom up" financial data inputs (budget and forecast) and commentary to produce reliable and robust financial information, including financial statements, Treasury submissions and inputs to other financial management reporting and analysis.
Perform financial analysis and reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data and identify risk areas. This includes monitoring of monthly results for transactional issues with accruals, prepayments, capitalisation, and project costing allocations.
Support achievement of business outcomes by providing sound accounting advice and direction to stakeholders. This involves a detailed understanding of the underlying cost drivers of the business and interpreting the impact of decisions and/or policy on financial outcomes.
Prepare briefings and options papers on technical matters for consideration by the Finance Business Partners and Senior Managers.
Identify, promote and facilitate improvements in financial management and/or business processes with financial impact at a divisional and/or branch level.
Contribute to the achievement of financial management business outcomes by participating crossfunctional project teams driving business improvement projects and/or financial sustainability initiatives at a business unit, divisional and/or whole of Transport cluster level

About you
You are tertiary qualified (Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline) with relevant industry experience, and have, or are working towards, full membership of a recognised professional accounting body (CPA/CA ANZ or equivalent).
With proven experience in management accounting, you will have demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate financial data to stakeholders.
You are someone who works collaboratively with others, building and maintaining strong team relationships. The successful candidate will be committed to managing and prioritising competing demands and responsibilities in a busy and evolving environment.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 8A ($120,423) – 8E ($134,872) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
