My Client and the role:

Beyond is assisting a complex crown entity in recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant.  You will be reporting to the Financial accounting manager and mentoring junior staff.  You will be the point of contact responsible for providing expert financial accounting advice.  The organisation is also going through and FMIS upgrade and there will be opportunities to update the current process.

The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering the following:

• Leading month end reporting
• Mentoring 6 staff
• Deliver quality financial advice, analysis and services in relation to the financial accounting area
• Ensure the financial policies are kept up to date
• Ensure all GST, FBT, PAYE tax obligations are met in a timely manner with no penalties imposed

Ideal candidate will have:

• Chartered Accountant with at least five years of post-qualification experience with strong technical accounting knowledge
• Prior staff leadership experience with proven ability to lead and develop teams
• Proactive with ability to focus on system, process and reporting improvements
• Strong communication, problem solving, analytical and influencing skills
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders (internal and external)
