The Opportunity

As Primary Connect’s supply chain network undergoes significant transformation and growth, the Senior Finance Analyst – Capital Projects will play an integral role in providing visibility of the capex pipeline and work closely with the Commercial Finance Manager – Major Projects to craft the capex narrative for Primary Connect.

 

This role will be hands-on in managing the Stay in Business (SIB) and Continuous Improvement Continuous Development (CICD) capital, partnering with the National Facilities team and CICD leads to build forecast assumptions, critically evaluate them against recent business developments and shape the capital outlook accordingly. In addition to monthly and quarterly reporting requirements (month-end, yearly forecasting, soft cost, QIC), the role will also play a key part in supporting project delivery teams, assisting with funding requests, project variations and ad-hoc financial analyses and queries.

 

The successful applicant must have the passion and commitment to improve and embed processes across a broad range of stakeholders, liaising with Governance & Assurance, other business units and Capital Finance to maintain proper stewardship of the capital budget that has been allocated to Primary Connect.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Group Capital reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
  • Prepare reporting packs and commentary for key stakeholder groups
  • Deliver annual budget submissions and lead annual budgeting process for SIB and CICD portfolios
  • Review and approve capital requests in accordance with governance frameworks
  • Cross-collaborating with other business units to resolve problems
  • Pro-actively identify any problems and work with financial and non-financial teams within Primary Connect to rectify
  • Ad-hoc financial analyses when required

 

About You

We are looking for team members who can demonstrate an agile mindset and are creative thinkers who can tell the story beyond the numbers to both financial and non-financial audiences. You will have:

  • Finance related degree and a Professional Qualification (CA/CPA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a commercial or operational analyst role with experience in business partnering, forecasting and budgeting
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships to achieve business outcomes
  • Proven ability to manipulate large sets of data and conduct analyses which are simple, structured, accurate and robust, in order to provide useful insights
  • Logical and analytical thinker who enjoys problem solving
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage business relationships with stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel and SAP experience
  • Experience with TM1, BPC and Google programs (desirable)
