About the team

The Engineering Design Solutions (EDS) team vision is to provide industry-leading design and engineering work that supports the delivery of a world-class metro, engages our people, and enables successful partnerships with local and global businesses.​​​

The opportunity

Within the EDS team we are recruiting a Senior Engineer to provide technical advice, participate in documentation reviews, technical assurance, standards and knowledge management in relation to engineering components associated with the metro product for Sydney Metro. 

The role will work as part of implementation groups across all of Sydney Metro to provide input with design and design working groups, assurance and technical problem solving.

When required to do so, the role will carry out recording and downloading and storing of documents that we need to access quickly and refer to as and when required.  It will also require visits to site to provide assurance to senior management that works are being delivered that meet the design and Metro’s requirements and to investigate issues in works under construction.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering.

Extensive experience in the management of system design and specification work for major rail infrastructure projects.

Knowledge and understanding of principles of engineering design and assurance within the context of rail environment.

Demonstrated experience with and understanding of the legislation, policy, processes and practices.

Demonstrated experience using all of Microsoft Office Suite and a willingness and ability to use other software tools if required.

You will also be an organised person who thrives in a fast paced, highly complex environment with the ability to work across multiple projects at any given time. You possess excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills. 

Salary and benefits

The salary for this position is Transport Grade 8 ($120,423 - $134,872) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.  For more information on Employee Benefits at Sydney Metro please click here.
