Are you a Senior Engineer with experience supporting wind turbine operations?Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Engineer, Wind Turbine Reliability in the energy industry. Our client is a North American leader in the energy industry and we are searching for a Senior Engineer to support their Texas wind turbine project. The successful candidate can be based in Corpus Christi, Calgary, Edmonton, Denver, or Toronto. This role will directly affect the availability and profitability of the company's wind turbine assets by conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions to equipment issues and other sources of unreliability. Accountabilities:
- Accountable for the identification and resolution of complex Wind Turbine equipment reliability issues through SCADA data, component reliability data analysis and hands on inspections and troubleshooting to provide immediate, positive availability gains.
- Conducts and supports wind turbine equipment root cause analyses and develops action plans to remediate issues with a focus on Acciona wind turbine equipment. Able to clearly and concisely convey RCA results and action plans to stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
- Develops, reviews, and maintains procedures for the safe and reliable operation, replacement, remediation and maintenance of major turbine equipment.
- Assists in developing preventative and predictive maintenance programs and reliability models for Acciona wind turbine equipment to support critical business decisions.
- Is responsible for developing business cases and validation of third party proposals for upgrades, modifications and replacements and provides recommendations to the facilities’ manager.
- Provides project management support by planning, implementing, and validating corrective actions to equipment failures.
- Works closely with reliability engineering supervisor, service engineers, electrical engineers and plant managers to identify and resolve equipment reliability issues and performance shortfalls.
Successful candidates will have:
- Knowledge and experience with Acciona Wind Turbines, preferred
- Bachelor’s Engineering degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field with minimum 7 years of wind industry experience and 10 years of general industry experience.
- Strong analytical, mechanical/electrical and data analysis skills
- Thorough knowledge of wind turbine equipment maintenance and operations.
- Knowledge of technical root cause analysis methodologies with experiencing leading and performing RCAs.
- Knowledge of Acciona SCADA systems is considered an asset
- A valid passport and ability to travel across the Canada/US border is required.
- Must meet requirements of fit for work which includes, but is not limited to, demonstrating hand, arm, back and leg coordination needed to ascend and descend a wind tower and complying with a weight restriction of 132 kg (or 290lb) total climbing weight. Comfort with completing physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions and comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights of 300 ft.
