As a Senior Data Specialist within Global OTT Platforms, you will support the team with your data analytics skills to identify areas that will improve the streaming experience of our customers across Europe. Our team works closely across functional teams to identify streaming quality defeats impacting our customers and their root causes, ensuring these are resolved in a timely manner. What you’ll do

• Be the technical lead for deep dive investigations into our streaming data using data analysis tools and technologies such as Google Cloud Platform to find patterns, trends and actionable insights
• Build solutions and strategies for proactively identifying and prioritising streaming quality defeats
• Create compelling visualisations that will provide actionable insights to guide the teams on areas that will result in an improved streaming experience
• Be able to resolve complex technical issues leveraging support from various domain experts as appropriate
• Guide and support the development of other analysts in the team
• Inspire others with your passion for streaming and your persistent drive to do things better

What you’ll bring

• Minimum four years’ experience of working in data analytics or in a similar role
• Self-starter who’s actively curious about data, and how they can be actioned to improve performance
• Expert in data analysis, modelling and visualisation using tools such as BigQuery, Looker Redshift, Tableau, DataStudio, ChartBlocks, FusionCharts, etc
• Experience with working with large datasets (TB/PB scale)
• Strong coding skills, preferably in a modern data manipulation language and / or a scripting language (such as SQL, Lucene, Jupyter notebook, Python or Go)
• Knowledge or experience of working with Google Cloud Platform BI products like BigQuery, Spanner, AI Platform, etc.
• High attention to detail and proven written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate across business areas
• Be keen to learn about cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), Machine Learning & AI Technologies
• Knowledge of streaming metrics, streaming protocols such as HLS and DASH, and networking protocols such as TCP/IP and HTTP will be a bonus
• Experience with machine learning such as clustering, classification and regression will be a bonus
