Duties & Responsibilities

• Understanding the business problems and how they can be solved through data science

• Formulate problems, extract and prepare data, apply modelling and then deploy the solution

• Apply sophisticated techniques and technology to all stages of the data science process

• Testing and validating model performance

• Collaborating with colleagues to meet the needs of our Claims partners

• Communicating solutions to data science teams and internal customers

• Training and development for the team

Skills & experience

• Highly numerate and educated to degree or postgraduate (MSc) in a relevant field, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science

• You will bring proven experience with track record of solving sophisticated non-routine problems; along with expertise in some of the following areas: Statistics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning & AI

• You will have experience at each process within data science, problem definition, data acquisition & wrangling, modelling, feature engineering and deployment.

• Programming knowledge and a skill for coding using: R, Python or Spark, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-specialists

• Salary circa £50,000 depending on skills, experience and qualifications
