Role Purpose:

The Senior Data Science Lead will lead the development of new data products within the market development product engineering team. Managing a sprint team of 6-10 developers and data scientists, they will set priorities for developing methodologies, liaising with our product management and sales team and with our suppliers including Telefonica Tech and Accenture. They will also be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects for customers using these products, ensuring that an appropriate methodology is used and that outputs are delivered on-time, in-budget and in line with client expectations.

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables

Lead the development of new and improved methodologies and products.

Support the product management and commercial team by providing sales collateral and input to proposals, and attending sales and project meetings with customers

Delivering analytical outputs to clients based on mobile phone location data.

Lead a small team of analysts to deliver projects.

Manage, coach and train other analysts to promote excellence in the team.

Attributes, Competencies, Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• Strong technical background with demonstrable experience and understanding of leading teams of software development services, engineering, data scientists, architects through the delivery and use of data products.
• Experience of strong functional Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Data Engineering understanding and utilising approaches, methods, frameworks, ecosystems and software landscape.
• Experience in modern technology architecture, infrastructure and software practices.
• Experience in managing budgets and delivering new business revenue streams
• Experienced in analysing data, solving complex problems and presenting and visualising complex ideas to customers
• Experience in working collaboratively and leading small teams

Desirable

• Technical communications skills at all levels of the organization including both technical and non-technical individuals.
• Experience in technology & product-led business at the stage of fast-paced scale.
• Agile ways of working
• Experience managing distributed teams
• Strong technical and engineering background that includes cloud technology, platforms and user-facing applications
• Experience using SQL, Python and GIS tools
• Sector experience delivering products in the transport, media or retail sectors
• Experience in Machine Learning products.
