The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Operations Analyst role to be an integral part of the Advanced Analytics & Insights team within Customer, Strategy and Technology. This role is responsible to ensure optimal performance through managing procedures, practices, and operations, including the design, implementation and delivery of data products.
Please note that this role is a fixed term full time role till 31st Dec 2023 based in Macquarie Park office.
What you will be involved in,
- Actively contribute to and guide innovation in Data Ops practices and delivery approaches and technologies that assist with the development and delivery of data products.
- Define, develop and communicate the practices and processes necessary for effective problem management to minimise the impact of service outages.
- Develop and maintain a database of known issues, causes and resolutions to guide the development and support teams in minimising the impact of incidents.
- Manage the response, investigation, resolution and post-incident analysis of major incidents to ensure deficiencies are identified, learnings are documented, and changes implemented to limit risk of future recurrence.
- Manage existing data pipelines proactively to deliver continuous improvement in terms of timeliness, reliability, cost to serve with adherence to quality standards.
- Consult and deliver subject matter expertise to technological solution projects, including delivery to implement data ops to ensure risks, interdependencies and exceptions are identified, mitigated or escalated and solutions are formulated in alignment with strategy and architecture.
- Lead the development of high-level options, conceptual approaches, technical recommendations and estimates to support the transition of data system designs into operation.
- Improve services level by implementing performance management strategies, robust configuration management practices and automated processes for data ingestion, enrichment and processing
About you
To be successful in the role you will be:
- Have appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience.
- Strong technical expertise in troubleshooting and improvement of Data Lake, Data Warehouse and data integration implementations on AWS cloud.
- Strong understanding of ELT design and architecture and ability to create ELT processes using a range of AWS cloud native technologies, custom code development and enterprise tools such as Talend.
- Strong experience in Agile environments /methodology.
- Strong experience in technologies such as MS SQL, Python and Tableau
- Strong understanding of Logical Data Models, Physical Data Models and Dimension Models and ability to deliver Logical Models and Physical Designs.
- Excellent understanding of source systems to the customer delivery of data products including releasing, deployment, monitoring and orchestration of AWS services and ELT software stacks.
