The Microsoft Mixed Reality Apps team is looking for motivated and experienced Data Engineer. Working with the most advanced augmented reality technologies in the world, our team aims to revolutionize today’s first line workforce by delivering business critical and innovative mixed reality solutions across industries. Our team uses deep customer research paired with design thinking and data to concept, build, and ship ground-breaking solutions to our customers around the world. Our solutions (Dynamics 365 Guides and Dynamics 365 Remote Assist) are offered on HoloLens and mobile that are deployed in a wide range of scenarios from manufacturing to field service and education. In this role, you will build scalable platforms and data systems to power in-market Apps analytics. You will work on problems such as telemetry design, data pipeline building and maintenance, Cloud DevOps tasks, security and privacy compliance projects, and occasionally data analytic tasks where our Data Analyst require your expertise in answering business questions. You will use the latest technologies in Azure and design for scalability, performance, and innovation to run globally and at scale. You will work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Program Managers to unlock intelligence and value from our data to drive customer satisfaction and growth. As a senior member of the team, you are expected to be able to bring structure to ambiguous business problems and use design, logic, and practical experience to decompose them into straightforward, scalable solutions. You will set the standard for technical excellence. Your solutions are exemplary in terms of design, clarity, structure, efficiency, and extensibility. Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for helping to craft, build, test, grow, operate, and maintain data pipelines, storage and platforms as well as support data analytics and telemetry design tasks.

 

Some of the other responsibilities that you would have include:  Build data storage and ETL pipelines with fast response and high efficiency for reporting purposes. Drive data security and privacy compliance projects. Identify areas to help business grow. Understand and support data analytics solutions and support them. Implement high quality code that needs little attention after completion. Run diagnosis and identify root-cause of data pipeline issues and proposed and implement solutions. Work within a team of talented analysts, developers, and product managers.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of a proven track record Data or Software or DevOps Engineering. Demonstrated ability and experience in the entire services development cycle:
  • design, implementation, deployment, and production. Experience with related problem, including the following: Pipeline/ETL Storage Performance Scalability Data modeling Machine learning basic foundations (would be an asset) Knowledge of Cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP), Git, CI/CD, SQL, Orchestration platforms (e.g. Airflow).
  • Kusto knowledge would be an asset. Knowledge of at least one programming and one scripting language. (C# and Python would be great assets).
  • Experience with visualization tools. Passion for supporting great quality, high performance, and reliable system.
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
