We’re looking for a talented Senior Data Analyst to help us at what is an incredibly exciting time for the BBC – as it looks to evolve the BBC iPlayer service to serve future generations.Â
This role will be at the heart of that journey, providing data-driven insights to help the BBC iPlayer team, as well supporting the wider TV Content team to continue to serve their audiences brilliantly in the face of significant shifts in the TV landscape.Â
This is a permanent role based at New Broadcasting House in London.
This role is about helping BBC iPlayer move forward in its use of data within day to day decision making and longer-term strategy.
You'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary Audiences team providing insight primarily to our content commissioning and curation teams. The exact focus of your work will vary from project to project, but it’s likely to include a focus on providing richer insight into our content performance, as well as audience acquisition and retention strategies. Â
You will be encouraged to pro-actively suggest data analytics projects that might assist in delivering the iPlayer goals, as well as responding to requests and queries from colleagues. Experience of Tableau (or a similar tool) is highly desirable since we use it as a major data communication tool - creating simple automated dashboards anyone in the BBC can access.
As well as working directly on BBC iPlayer you will be part of the BBC's wider analytics team. As part of this you will be supported by a network of analysts who will work together to develop this discipline at the BBC, ensuring that what works in one product can be scaled across the organisation.
Our ideal candidate would have a specific interest in TV / video content and its future in a digital world.
