Senior Cloud Migration Specialist

On behalf of our client, Procom is currently seeking a Senior Cloud Migration Specialist. Their Technology group is embarking on the migration of custom and vendor applications from its on-premise and managed service environments to its cloud environment to enhance the resilience and accessibility of its application portfolio. Key to this exercise is the use of Azure platforms and services to migrate applications to a cloud environment while addressing all network, security, data pipelines and connectivity considerations. The Senior Cloud Migration Specialist will play a critical role in not only executing on the migrations but also ensuring that best-practices are employed to drive sound change management, release management, and operational performance in the cloud

Senior Cloud Migration Specialist Job Duties:

• Analyze and profile all aspects of applications in the BCI portfolio including the workflows, connectivity, design and security posture and recommend the approach to be used for migration to and hosting in the cloud
• Collaborate with application owners, business stakeholders and vendors to gather application details and translate these into the information and artifacts needed for a successful migration
• Provide strong guidanceAct as the migration lead and provide direction to internal technology resources to explain the needs of individual applications to be migrated to the cloud; in keeping with the cloud migration strategy
• Use troubleshooting skills and work closely with operations, support, engineering and/or other functions to ensure successful migrations
• Responsible for planning, managing, monitoring the migration of Application and Operations systems to the Cloud.

Senior Cloud Migration Specialist Mandatory Skills:

• 6+ years experience migrating applications to cloud platforms and creating solutions using Azure technologies and services
• Expert knowledge of Azure services and establishing connectivity to internal and external technology assets
• Experience working with cloud and security engineers to assess and understand the nature of the application environment
• Understanding of how IAM and RBAC considerations impact application hosting, access, and operation
• Strong oral communication skills
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience
