About the team:
The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering a once-in-a generation multi-billion dollar program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. We are dedicated and passionate team that is proud of the work we do and the supportive and flexible team culture we have built.
Infrastructure Technology Services (Infratech) team develops advanced solutions leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning to support the implementation of Digital Engineering Framework and delivery of TfNSW projects and maintenance of its assets. Infratech team is one of the key centre of excellence hubs within the Cluster to evaluate new technologies or improve existing solutions.
The opportunity:
Due to the unprecedented scale of investment in the Transport for NSW Future Transport strategy we have a permanent opportunity (Macquarie Park – Flexible) for a Senior Cloud Engineer to be part the Infratech’s team.

You will Work collaboratively within a team of subject matter experts in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT and technology acceleration to assist with the design, build and maintenance of cloud infrastructure solutions for Transport for NSW.
What you will be involved in:
Develop and deliver high quality, robust and secure infrastructure/software solutions that meet business and customer expectations
Work collaboratively within a project team to assist with the design, build and maintenance of cloud infrastructure solutions for Transport for NSW
Promote business continuity by supporting existing systems/solution to ensure maximum uptime of applications and platforms on a day to day basis
Undertake rigorous code review and analysis as required to ensure validity, efficiency and consistency of newly developed software and infrastructure systems
Advise and perform operational support of the applications/platforms and ensure change and release management, compliance, auditing controls are in place for cloud environments.
Implement cost optimization standards and process in line with the Transport Standards.
Undertake continuous improvement to ensure standards, process' and tools are aligned with Cloud best practice.
Ensure best practice automation, scaling and recovery process are in place in line with Cloud best practice.

About you:
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer that can take TfNSW into the new era of infrastructure technology.
Ideally you will have:
5+ years of technical sales or engineering experience in software/hardware industry
2+ years of IoT solution development experience in enterprise or solution builder(ISV/IHV)
Strong planning and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, planning and drive for results competencies
Passionate about partners to build creative and innovative solutions.
Key activities you will support include:
Build IoT and Digital Twin Solutions
Understand the Government IoT strategy and influence and orchestrate relevant and applicable internal resources to drive maximum coverage on key opportunities and strategies in a timely manner by engaging as a deep technical level across the Cluster
Essential requirements
Broad knowledge of Azure or AWS and digital twin, IoT architectures, from devices to cloud (Devices, Gateways, Connectivity, Cloud, Analytics and Visualization)
Developer experience in C, Java, Node.js/JavaScript, Python or C# depending on the hardware and operating system.
Data and analytics experience - Machine Learning skills include R and/or Python.
Web technology /Power BI/Enterprise systems for IoT data visualization.
Azure or other Cloud Platform technical competency (infrastructure components, security, data, and analytics).
Experience on Windows and/or other O/S platforms (Linux, Android, etc.)
Proficient oral and written communications skills in English required.
Salary and Benefits
