We are the technology team that manage AWS and Azure at TfL. From cost saving initiatives to adoption of new features we are at the hub of everything cloud. It’s an exciting and fast paced technology platform, one we like to keep ahead of the curve.

About the role

Public cloud moves at pace and our talented team of engineers react quickly to an ever-changing landscape. You will be working across both cloud platforms to come up with well thought out cost saving initiatives and take the lead on the conversations with our stakeholders. Work closely with the security team to define and write policies that keep TfL safe. 

As lead engineer of TfL’s public cloud standards, you will write, advise and present these to TfL’s technology community as well as working closely with the project teams to deliver new cloud-based solutions. And finally amend and develop code to automate the delivery of new cloud products and mentor existing employees into the technical art of scripting. 

Skills Required:

• Excellent written and communication skills

• Demonstrable ability to automate Azure and/or AWS infrastructure

• Demonstrable ARM and/or CloudFormation Scripting

• Policy creation to internal and external CIS security standards

• Auto-remediation scripting

• Optimisation and cost saving techniques and strategy

• YAML pipelines

Skills Desirable:

• PowerShell DSC 

• Azure DevOps

• Python

• Troubleshoot Windows 2019 or Red Hat 8 server
