About this role
Openreach are recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager – Copper & Fibre Performance to join any one of our following offices; London, Birmingham or Bristol offering flexible hybrid working.
We need a leader who will manage our large and dynamic field operations unit, the largest field force in BT Group. Managing the balance between financial and operational performance, driving best practice, benchmarking and efficiency across the team.

You'll have the following responsibilities
• Business-partnering with the Openreach UK Operations MD, as well as acting as a key member of the SD Finance leadership team and contributing to the strategic direction of the unit.
• Accountable for delivery of performance execution of operational teams, including monthly performance as well as building long term plans. Driving performance by region to manage short and medium term performance. Driving financial performance through the lens of KPIs for efficiency, performance and resourcing.
• Driving insight leading to commercial decision making through product unit costing KPIs
• Accountable for the cost base for UK Operations of over £0.5Bn p.a.
• The Senior Finance Manager will be balancing the delivery of service levels with cost of delivery and support the development of future operating frameworks, driving transformation activities to improve efficiency of operations.
• Will operate in a highly complex and dynamic environment with high risk (potential financial or service / business risk)
• The role holder will need to business partners across the business at Managing Director level. The role holder will need to be an excellent business partner and stakeholder manager, ensuring they can build deep relationships up and down the business.
• Will have direct people management responsibility for a team of 6 finance managers and indirect responsibility for two finance professional in the India support team
You'll have the following skills & experience
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong executive level relationships
• Experience of positively influencing business performance by using data, commentary and analysis to inform decision making.
• Strong team management experience. Advisor and coach to others both within own team and elsewhere, formulates their operational guidelines or in-depth knowledge and advises on specialist area
• Drives judicious use of field and desk resources to maximise productivity and drive cost efficiency and instrumental in driving expansion of margins
• Leads, champions and manages conflicting priorities with ownership of successful delivery of key organisation-wide finance programmes
• Sets agendas, identifies opportunities and promotes the highest standards of best practice and provides insight on finance work area(s) or specialism
