About this role
The Digital unit will lead our digital innovation agenda, driving new digital experiences for our customers - and in new markets – while, at the same time, simplifying what we have. They will be responsible for focusing on digital delivery and the customer experience as much as the end innovation (including IT delivery and transformation, digital innovation and delivery, data strategy and solutions, and IT architecture and governance).
Digital unit will set and implement the overall BT Group Digital Platform Strategy including x-CFU products, platforms, IT architecture, standards, and transformation agenda
Reporting into the CDIO, this role will be responsible for supporting the CDIO in delivering their priorities and working with members of the leadership team to drive the overall objectives of the functions
You'll have the following responsibilities
- Assist the CDIO in delivering their priorities and responsibilities as an ExCo member. Understand and be able to communicate clearly the objectives, interests and vision of the CDIO and their leadership team
- Run the Digital Leadership team meeting – manage the agenda and weekly sessions working closely with the CDIO and COO plus inputs from the LT especially HR/Finance/Corp affairs
- Accurately capture identify owners and track key actions from Leadership Meetings, ExCo and QBR and help drive them to completion.
- Ensure the CDIO has briefings for any internal or external meetings that require them – either producing them or ensuring others provide them
- Produce slides and material when required by the CDIO that is clear and alinghed to the Digital Strategy of a quality that can be submitted to Board/ExCoReview/
- Work with the comms team, review and input into any material going to the team on behalf of the CDIO
- Take a lead on specific initiatives from the CDIO so that they have the bandwith to manage other strategic initiatives
- Help to define the evolution of Digital unit, including vision, mission, culture and overall goals.
- Represent the CDIO at key meetings that they are unable to attend, ensuring that the agenda items are met effectively
- Management of overall budget
- Implementation and management of annual planning, group objectives and tracking through the year
- Support and lead the planning for international trips to the US or MWC on behalf of the CDIO
- Ownership of all governance pan group
- Working closely with comms and HR, in conjunction with members of the leadership team, drive functions people plan

- Highly structured and organised approach
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to define requirements both effectively and in a timely manner.
- Experience in working with and managing senior stakeholders
- Pragmatic team player, adept at holding others to account, whilst consistently delivering on their own commitments
- Demonstrable communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills, leadership and influencing skills.
- Capability to deliver to tight time scales.
- Bravery, courage and tenacity to take positions with an ability to raise above portfolio and influence at the enterprise level.
- Ability to maintain a professional approach at all times and a high degree of discretion & confidentiality
- Able to quickly identify innovative, pragmatic and cost effective solutions to business management issues.
- Solid analytical competency and experience in programme and project management
