About the team
The role is part of EDS – Engineering team who operates at enterprise level and engage project teams for digital engineering initiatives. The key focus areas for the team include Digital Engineering (DE) management requirements, asset information register, Common Data Environment(CDE), Information Models, BIM, CAD & GIS and Information management, structuring & delivery requirements.
The opportunity
We are looking to appoint a Senior Asset Engineer. Reporting to Associate Director Engineering – Asset Management, you will be the engineering lead to support the rollout and continuous improvement of Sydney Metro’s Digital Engineering Framework across the organisation. You will also support the development and enhancement of Digital Engineering standards and processes to ensure asset information is created, handed over, found, maintained, and governed in the most effective and efficient manner. You will drive a culture where the value of asset information is clear and well understood.

About you
Knowledge and experience of the application of whole life cost principles to make asset management decisions
Knowledge and experience of the project lifecycle process
Strong analytical skills with proven ability to use data to quantify risks and prioritise asset needs
Development of compelling business cases through the translation of data, technical knowledge and evaluation of options
Ability to engage various parts of the business to uplift their understanding of digital engineering and influence change in the ways of working at all levels (including with 3rd parties)
Uplift the capability of personnel (including 3rd parties) to ensure the Digital Engineering requirements are understood and enforced
Result oriented with a keen sense of urgency
An enthusiastic and curious approach with the ability to motivate and influence others
The role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker under the Rail Industry Worker Scheme
Tertiary qualifications in engineering and Chartered Membership of Engineering Institution
Salary and Benefits
This is a Transport Grade 8 role offering an attractive remuneration package.
