Our client, a contract service provider in NE Calgary seeks a motivated Senior Accountant to support their growing business. This is a great permanent opportunity that offers an appealing growth track for the right individual. Duties of the Sr. Accountant may include but not be limited to; assisting with operational and financial audits, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting, journal entries and account reconciliations, reconciling and balancing general ledger accounts, researching and correcting account discrepancies, assisting with regulatory reporting, reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, drafting financial statements and supporting month-end and year-end close. You will be acting as team lead to operational accounting staff (payables/receivables/payroll) in addition to assisting with budget preparation, and preparing the monthly budget variance analysis. You will also complete special project work which may be required on an ad hoc basis. Proficiency with ERP systems is required in addition to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. 

Requirements

As the Senior Accountant you will have 3+ years of experience in a full cycle accounting role. This role requires strong time management, and solid communication, technology, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and will be actively enrolled in pursuing a CPA designation (mentorship and tuition support available).
