You'll be a technical resource within a team of security professionals. Responsible for designing and implementing plans, monitoring, maintaining and improving the integrity of the organisation's security information processes and systems, including ownership of  technical device build standards and acceptance into service. 

You'll have the following responsibilities

Technical Design and implementer of projects, blueprints and implementation on all aspects of Nationwide’s Security infrastructure incorporating Security managed devices in the following environments: 

Data Centres (STC/NDC) and Nationwide Admin Centres 

Corporate Extend Portal 

SNE and DNE Portal 

Open Banking Portal 

Corporate Test Centre (CTC) Portal  

Ensure Design Deliverables are technically correct and produced in line with customer requirements 

Prepared to implement changes during and outside of normal office hours 

Ability to peer review and scrutinise design and implementation plans 

Ability to interpret business requirements and design technical solutions 

Promoting innovation and challenge parties involved to ensure cost effectiveness in all design activities 

Ensure that there is no scope creep, and where unavoidable you’re expected to manage design changes effectively 

All designs should show adherence to NBS Guardrails specific to the solution being proposed 

Recommend security controls and identify solutions that support customer business objective 

Provide specialist advice and recommend approaches across teams and various stakeholders 

Communicate widely with other stakeholders 

Advise on important security-related technologies and assess the risk associated with proposed changes 

Inspire and influence others to execute security principles 

Participate and contribute in current & future security architecture state 

Test and validation of hardware, firmware and software for possible impacts on security and deliver security vulnerability management. 

Support Security compliance relationships with national Government or industry bodies, including financial standards like PCI-DSS. 

You'll have the following skills & experience

Significant experience of working with Firewall’s 

Specialist skillsets in Network Security 

Experience in Cloud security 

Support security incidents as required, providing technical support during event and for post-event analyses. 

LAN, WAN & WLAN including TCP/IP, MPLS, VPN, VLANS etc 

Routing (BGP, iBGP, OSPF, IS-IS) on Cisco or Juniper Firewall’s 

Network configuration and administration 

Experience in IDS/IPS 

Experience in 4110, 4150 Cisco ASA 

Experience in 9300 Cisco FTD  

Experience in Juniper SRX 

Experience in F5 LTM 

Experience in Bluecoat Proxy servers 

Experience in Bluecoat AV 

Experience in McAfee Web Gateway 

Good working knowledge and experience in network automation e.g. Ansible
