Job Description

Our mission is to break down the barriers of today to release the potential of tomorrow. Join us today and release yours.

There are two things that we want to share with anyone considering joining us.

Firstly, we’ve got big ambitions for our colleagues and the future of the organisation. These include our vision that inclusion and accessibility drive every conversation we have and every decision we make. We want our workforce to fully represent the communities and customers we serve, because a diverse business is a better business. We value every colleague, their diversity and the contribution that they make. When we say you’re welcome at BT, we really mean it.

Secondly, the one thing the pandemic has taught us is that a lot of current and future colleagues, where and when possible, want to embrace hybrid working. Therefore, we are introducing smart working at BT. Smart working means having the flexibility to choose, as a team, how and where you work depending on your team’s deliverables and needs; when you are at your shared core location to connect with others and when not. It may not be for every role, and, as part of the recruitment process, you’ll have the chance to discuss smart working and how it might work for the job you are applying for.

 About this role

This Digital Scrum Master is responsible for driving the successful delivery of digital products and services across the organisation, managing the product backlog, removing blockers and ultimately delivering value to the organisation.

• Build and maintain motivated project squads and teams, making sure there is an iterative plan to work towards.

• Protect the team, ensure their collaboration and a high level of communication as well as concentrate their focus on what is most important.

• Proactively manage dependencies, overcome obstacles and get the best value against any constraints.

• Be a change agent - challenging the status quo where it does not enable the squad.

• Facilitate regular stakeholder communication – updates and reporting as required for the business.

• Budget management of project.

You'll have the following skills & experience

• Excellent stakeholder management skills and understanding of strategic and tactical business change needs in IT projects.

• Coaching, influencing, negotiating and interpersonal skills.

• Management and delivery of large and complex projects within a corporate environment.

• Experience working with multiple stakeholders across multiple departments to deliver a vision or goal with various moving parts

Experience you would be expected to have

• Extensive experience in the role of a agile delivery manager mastering delivering cross-functional change using Agile (i.e. across business and technology)

• Demonstrated coaching experience, with a strong servant leadership philosophy.

• Demonstrated experience fostering and empowering high performing teams.

• Experience of working across a wide range of internal and external technology suppliers to align plans and deliver business outcomes.
