Job Description

Our Mission

Lloyds Banking Group is the UK’s leading digital franchise, with over 13 million active online customers across our three main brands - including Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland - as well as the biggest mobile bank in the country. We're building the bank of the future, and we need your help. We’re continuing our extensive transformation Programme, with an investment of £3bn, redefining what a bank is from the inside out. Become part of our diverse team, and you'll experience a rare opportunity to impact the lives of millions of customers.

Want to know more?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Authentication lab and the team which is being mobilised to provide an Authentication platform as a central service. Our Authenticators use the newest technologies across desktop, mobile, cloud, machine learning, microservices and others.

Our team

The Authentication platform is the front door to the bank; whether customers are logging on, making a payment, changing personal details or shopping online, this platform and the colleagues building and running it will ensure a positive and secure customer experience whilst providing assurance that their money is safe.

About the role

We believe that people don't fit neatly into roles, and we value everyone's individual skills, experience, and knowledge — it's what makes you amazing!

As a Scrum Master you'll work closely with both feature team members and the wider engineering and business community including Product Owners, Delivery Leads, Architects and a range of shared teams, in order to deliver business value using standard agile methods. You’ll also coach one of the feature teams in the art of agile delivery and instil a continuous improvement approach. The pace and scale of change taking place requires a passion for new thinking, new ideas and continuous improvement, as well as a flexible approach when interacting with wider teams.

Here’s how you’ll make a difference!

  • Coaching the team to understand agile methods, practices, rules and values, translating this into practice to deliver business value
  • Bringing to life your experience to help frame, create and deliver innovative services in line with the Lab's vision
  • Using your domain and agile knowledge to drive forward change to achieve the Lab's Objectives & Key Results

About You

  • You're a dynamic, adaptable and proactive individual who is able to use & learn new skills & knowledge in varying circumstances
  • Adept at unblocking issues to pave the path for the feature team and using your own judgement
  • Have the confidence to constructively challenge decisions when relevant, making sense of complex scenarios and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems

We're looking for someone with the following minimum skills and experience:

  • Has strong agile method experience, preferably in a software engineering environment, with a clarity on the right method to use in a situation e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean
  • Has a desire to adopt new ways of working to reduce the risk of 'big bang' deliveries
  • Has strong experience of using tools to enable continuous improvement (e.g. Jira, Confluence) and metrics to improve the flow of work
  • Has the coaching skills to enable the team to develop a digital leadership and self-organising mind-set

Together we'll make it possible...So what can we offer you in return?

The role offers the chance to create new products and capabilities, shape new ways of working and have an impact across the bank. Whatever your aspirations, you can also expect excellent benefits, personal development and a career that’s enriching and full of opportunity.

We promote an inclusive, collaborative and encouraging environment- it's one of the many things our colleagues love about working with us!

You'll also receive a package that includes:

  • Base Salary of £57,861 - £75,710
  • Discretionary, variable bonus max 30%
  • Cash sum of 4% which you can exchange for a variety of benefits or simply take the cash
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Pension, where we'll give up to a max of 15%
  • Access to share plans and staff discounts
  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays

Sound like you? Apply today, we’d love to hear from you..

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain recover. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we’re building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
