Job Description

The Screenings Asset Specialist will primarily be responsible for planning and executing the creation of the Screening Assets for our Premieres, Festivals, Award Consideration, Theatrical Distribution, and other Netflix screenings. An excellent understanding of DCPs, audio, video, localisation and digital file formats is critical. It is a dynamic, challenging, fast-paced environment that requires someone who can exercise outstanding judgement and prioritisation. In addition to Screening asset creation, the candidate needs a strong desire to learn and support in-person Screenings when required.

Strong candidates can handle a vast amount of work and are determined to improve. They will be able to juggle multiple responsibilities and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to prioritise deadlines. A good fit in the role has a candid and direct communication style. They are willing to admit to mistakes quickly, find innovative solutions, and question actions inconsistent with our culture.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creation of Screening Assets, including but not limited to DCPs, Media Files (h264 and Apple ProRes), DVDs/BDs, viewing links, and more.
  • QC review the created files to ensure they are correct and meet our standards.
  • In collaboration with the Screenings manager, support in-person screenings when required.
  • Working closely with Screenings and Post teams to anticipate asset needs in advance of incoming screening requests.
  • Familiarise themselves with assigned titles to anticipate potential issues (aspect ratios, forced narratives).
  • Understand campaigns of their associated titles to anticipate better and prioritise their workload
  • Building and tracking asset delivery timelines to ensure assets are completed in advance of relevant campaign dates and incoming screening requests
  • Troubleshooting file-based delivery and creation issues quickly and constructively.
  • Availability to troubleshoot issues on nights and weekends as needed

Candidate Profile

  • College/University degree preferred or additional production certificate programs.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience within medium to high budget studios, networks, or media services company
  • Ability to handle a heavy volume of work, supervising several projects in tandem
  • Strong organisational skills with a proactive mentality
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent understanding of digital cinema (DCPs, KDMs/DKDMs, theatrical aspect ratios)
  • Knowledge of digital audio and video file formats and creation software (Resolve, FCP, Avid, Adobe)
  • Knowledge of Post Production Imaging (Color Space, DI, P3 vs. Rec709) and Sound Workflows (Nearfield and Theatrical mixes)
  • Highly organised, efficient, and detail-oriented.
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
  • Passionate about our culture and values in the workplace
  • Native or business proficiency in English
