About this role
Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) is a key sales channel for BT, contributing £1.7bn revenue and £0.8bn EBIT per year, and serving 1m+ SME customers in the UK. It’s an exciting period of growth for SME, and as we embed our new Enterprise model to achieve that growth, this role will support the delivery of our ambitious transformation plans and goals.
In a highly competitive market, this role is responsible for idenitifying opportunities and closing sales that secure new business with a portfolio of SME prospects. Through building strong relationships and successfully influencing and negotiating with key contacts and decision-makers, the roleholder achieves (exceeds!) targets for their prospects, by really getting to know their business and transformation roadmap, and developing win plans that showcase how BT & EE’s portfolio best meets their needs – targets may include customer contact activity and pipeline health, as well as SOV/revenue growth, market share, and customer experience. A hunger to learn will be key in this role, alongside a desire to try new things to help new customers readily engage with BT, to support our sales people to be successful, and to make sure BT beat the competition and win in the market.
You'll have the following responsibilities
• Develops and applies expertise on products and services from a specific BT / EE portfolio, to support customer offerings.
• Supports standard product sales opportunities and provides technical support as requested, to advance offerings.
• Collaborates with and supports account managers by providing technical product and service knowledge on request.
• Monitors and develops an understanding of BT’s competitors’ offerings for a specific product or service portfolio.
Specifically in this role:-
• Our sales specialists typically work on opportunities with our larger SME customers who have the most compex needs.
• Collaborate with account managers, to develop and drive sales plans that retain existing and grow new business for BT.
• Apply sound technical expertise for a specific prodict and service portfolio (e.g. mobility, connectivity, IP voice), to ensure channel achieve and exceed targets for account base – which may include customer contact activity and pipeline health, as well as SOV/revenue growth, market share, and customer experience.
• Identify and advocate where technology can support both new business opportunities and growth opportunities within account base – drive attachment of service to product sales ensuring the mix is rich
• Take accountability for personal activity that drives a high level of customer satisfaction – effectively articulate how BT‘s strategy aligns with customers’ business goals, and how BT/ EE products and services best meet their needs.
• Customer interactions will largely be remote in a desk based inside sales environment.
You'll have the following skills & experience
· Successful track record delivering brilliant sales outcomes for an account base
o Experience with SME or Corporate customers preferrable
o Experience in a rapid growth business and/or inside sales organisation preferrable
· Used knowledge of the business to sell, negotiate or persuade
· Advocating and applying technology where it has not been used previously
· Worked alongside colleagues through a period of intense stress and pressure
· Delivered results when the deliverables were unclear
· Developed quotes /business cases and ways to avoid costs
· Developed an internal network of strong working relationships you can call on to assist with your role
