Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with Analytic Warehouse solutions and data movement from data stores into Analytic Warehouses. Experience with performance/scalability optimizations.
  • Experience in implementing analytics systems architecture and cloud computing.
  • Experience with technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the technology space.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Industry experience or experience working in a specialist area of technology.
  • Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch or real-time event processing, and ETL workflows solutions including architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
  • Experience in writing code in development languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C++, Scala, R, or Go.
  • Understanding of DNS, TCP, Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Load Balancing, VPN, VPC, and Linux.
  • Ability to quickly learn/understand/work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions.

With companies relying on Google Cloud, we regularly answer questions about technical features, helping customers design architectures, engage in proof of concepts, and troubleshooting potential roadblocks related to database migration and data back ends. As a Sales Engineer for Smart Analytics, you'll utilize both your technical aptitude and communication skills to address all aspects of the data lifecycle.

Some travel may be required for this role, which will be defined during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Challenge and inspire customers and peers to solve difficult problems with ambitious and novel solutions leveraging a sophisticated set of technical competences.
  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, identify key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Manage the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.
  • Work hands-on with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
