About this role

This role requires close working relationships with other HR and Sales teams on a daily basis. It will also forge closer working relationships with our other HR Systems teams as we invest in technology that will eventually automate as many of our manual processes as is practically achievable.

This role holder will make sure accurate and timely payments are made based on the appropriate pay plan so that our colleagues are rewarded for their hard work. This job also ensures commission payments are made to our indirect channel partners and BT Local Business’ which contributes to maintaining and growing positive commercial relationships for BT. We are setting up an overflow team in Bristol to work alongside our established SBC Team in Budapest to provide greater coverage on current volumes, SLA’s and KPI’s.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Responsible for the administration of the Bonus/Commission calculation process in line with agreed SLA’s and auditable standards for the following customers:

Work closely with the Operational Excellence team to identify improvements to process and feed these into the systems team as part of our drive for a continuous improvement culture

Accurately remit external commission payments to small business and indirect partner sales

Collect and collate accurate data; working closely with other business areas to ensure data exchanged is accurate and credible on which to base specific bonus/commission calculations and reports

Proactively working with business partners to identify and resolve data quality issues 

Ability to make accurate and justifiable manual interventions to data inputs to maintain calculation accuracy and compliance 

Handling and resolving commission queries, analysing the root cause of queries, and recommending solutions to reduce the number of ongoing queries.

Perform data quality checks on the Bonus/commission payments, and proactively resolving any issues.

Support the transition to a new system which will require flexibility in ways of working, a willingness to provide feedback on the system capability and to proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.  

 

You'll have the following skills & experience

Very strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Access Database (e.g. VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, pivot tables, “IF” statements and used to working with multiple rows of manual data)

Capable of working with, manipulating and critically evaluating large complex data sets

Assess data integrity and accuracy for input and outputs, identify any outliers and potential cause for the anomaly at each stage in the process 

Build strong working relationships with partners across end to end processes, working collaboratively to provide key information and messages

Ability to engage and challenge stakeholders at varying levels (including CFOs and Commercial directors) 

A thirst for accuracy, quality and compliance: 

Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task and prioritise workload in a high-pressured environment

Desirable experience

Worked with pay plans and sales commission for employees and small business

Able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment, managing a range of priorities and deadlines

Previous roles have involved working with sales, commercial and finance functions 

Experience working in a HR reward function or similar commercial function, industries that appeal to us are Financial Services, Insurance and / or telecommunications ( amongst others )
