Material Control - Logistics

Placement provides work experience in the field of material control for RRMC - with a global base of over 800 suppliers.  This is an excellent opportunity to experience the interactions between supplier, customer and internal departments within a global supply chain.

What will you be doing?

• Understanding of supply chain within the BMW Group – how parts are manufactured and delivered from Supplier > Assembly Line.
• Bring the department to a higher level of reporting structure – standardisation of reporting throughout the whole department.
• Understand the department KPIs such as Parts Availability, Days of Inventory Outstanding, Inventory Budget, Transport Budget
• Involvement in material control project work with other logistics departments – a set project will be carried out throughout the year to support Material Control.
• Support Material Controllers within the department to monitor supplier delivery performance, making the monitoring process easier and less manual.
• Management of weekly material control report – general understanding of processes that are required withain material control.

Qualifications

• Ideally Logistics/IT Degree.
• Strong relationship building skills and ability to show good inter-personal skills, showing exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational and time management skills, and ability to show high attention to detail to every task.
• Ability to adapt working approach depending on specific requirements, prioritise activities, work under pressure, multi-task and solve problems.
• An excellent team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office and Outlook, knowledge of SAP is advantageous
