About the role
We have an exciting role available where you will join our team to solve autonomous navigation in challenging environments without reliable GPS signals to protect lives in military and civilian use cases.

You will be working with a team of engineers to develop the hardware and software to allow drones to navigate using visual information. You will be responsible for integrating cutting-edge, often novel sensors and technologies into flyable prototypes as well as improving our growing fleet of operational unmanned systems. As our work is highly knowledge driven you will be trained in and pioneering the use of novel frameworks, cloud computing and development tools to be able to handle the large volumes of data and deliver world-leading technology to our customers.

Essential requirements

  • Excellent understanding of drones or unmanned systems fundamentals (sensors, actuators, control theory, navigation, autopilots etc.)
  • Proficiency with ROS or equivalent
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent C++ coding skills
  • Demonstrated delivery of functioning drone or unmanned systems

Other requirements

  • Hybrid working: Willingness to travel or relocate to Oxfordshire (relocation packages available). Hardware-related development and test flights are concentrated at Harwell Space Campus, while software work can be done remotely. You'd be expected to work from the office in Harwell 3-4 days per week.
  • Security clearance: You will need access to government restricted info to do the work, so you must be willing to and be eligible to pass security checks.

What you’ll get

  • Merits-based competitive compensation and stock option plans
  • £1k annual training and development allowance plus online course subscriptions
  • Flexible and hybrid working options (minimum one day a week in the office)
  • 25 paid days of leave + bank holidays + paid volunteering days + generous maternity and paternity policies
  • VR headset for VR team social or a hobby drone
  • Annual perks and discounts such as office setup stipend, paid fitness and wellbeing subscriptions, shopping and gym discounts
  • Hybrid remote team building: yearly company retreats in Europe, in person socials, virtual coffees and game nights
  • Excellent colleagues within a supportive culture, encouraging growth and high ownership.

If you are not interested yourself, but know someone who do and are available, we’re offering a Â£2k bonus for any successful referral at https://archangelgroup.breezy.hr/team/portal !
