About the Team
The Technical Services branch, within the Infrastructure and Place unit, provides specialised engineering services for the multi-modal delivery, operations and management of our transport network. The Traffic Signal Design team sits within the Technical Services branch.
The Traffic Signal Design team provides robust technical road design advice and solutions on various ongoing projects across NSW. We work closely with other disciplines in Technical Services with a common goal to deliver sustainable and safe intersection road designs for all users.
The Opportunity
As a Road Designer in the Traffic Signals Design team you will:
Preparation and delivery of internally and externally prepared traffic signal designs on major road infrastructure projects, in compliance with policies, standards, technical directions, guidelines, procedures and agreed requirements and contribute to the management of technical risk in traffic signal design.
Contribute to improved design outcomes, by developing and maintaining constructive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support the Traffic Signal Design Manager and Lead Road Designer with the delivery of traffic signal designs.

About You
You will:
Have a sound knowledge of Transport for NSW (formally RMS) standards and guides including the Traffic Signal Design guide, Austroads Guide to Road Design, Austroads Guide to Traffic Management, AS 1742 and other related standards
Have similar experience in traffic signal design
Preferably have tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline
Have a basic understanding of CAD software – MicroStation would be an advantage
Be willing to undertake and complete Road Safety Auditor training.

Salary and Benefits
USS Grade 4 – Grade 7 ($72,686 - $100,075) per annum plus overtime/penalties, superannuation and leave loading.
