Job Description

Main Duties:

  • Deliver advice and guidance on the most complex matters in own area of expertise to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Plan, manage and deliver specific projects within programmes, often of a highly complex and sensitive nature, by allocating resources within an agreed budget.
  • Managing project teams of up to 3 people, taking decisions to ensure the delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • Coordinate the council's response to national refugee resettlement schemes (Homes for Ukraine) working with colleagues from across the council.
  • Provide strong project management/leadership support, including leading project meetings, working groups, stakeholder forums involving other public sector agencies.

Experience:

  • Strong project management or leadership skills (e.g. experience of managing projects or teams)
  • Experience of working in a frontline role supporting vulnerable people (e.g. case worker for refugees or early help or social care practitioner)
  • The ability to motivate others, whether team members or colleagues, generating commitment and a shared sense of purpose.
  • Understanding of and ability to implement professional boundaries, safe working practices, safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children
  • Demonstrate initiative and strong communication skills
