We have an opportunity for a Research Director to be part of the outstanding CBRE Research team, you will be providing the top level of thought leadership research to our internal and external clients.

Your role will cover commercial thought leadership such as occupier trends, life sciences, and future of offices, including responsibility for holistic/cross sectors theme and work closely with the ESG researcher team.

To further strengthen our UK Research Team, we are seeking a high-calibre research professional to join us.  This role will be responsible for providing clear and insightful analysis and Thought Leadership for the commercial sector. The successful candidate will need to hit the ground running, and lead a variety of initiatives and topics, including occupier tends, life sciences and the future of the office. The UK research department comprises a 20-strong group of analysts and researchers. Research is integral to the quality of advice delivered to the company’s clients and to CBRE leading position as an authoritative commentator on its markets. The role will sit within the offices team, but will work closely with other parts of the research department and other departments within CBRE.

Key Responsibilities

The post will specifically involve taking the lead on thought leadership research for the offices research team and so the responsibilities of the person appointed will include:

• Develop and agree a Strategic Content Plan with internal stakeholders, including agency colleagues and head of research.
• Coordination and communication of Thought Leadership programme with internal stakeholders, marketing, and global research teams
• Undertake agreed range of research initiatives and outputs across the commercial spectrum.
• Present research to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to consulting work.
• Creating and maintaining high levels of business engagement for research initiatives.
• Responsibility for supporting, driving and leveraging global, regional and local research initiatives as needed.
• Liaising with marketing to ensure CBRE research get maximum media exposure.

Person Specification/Requirements

• University graduate. An undergraduate / postgraduate qualification in real estate, economics or social science would be desirable but not essential;
• At least 5 years’ experience in property market research or other research / analysis environment preferred;
• Ability to analyse and present results orally and in writing;
• Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis and presentation;
• Good numeracy and writing skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills and organisational skills, and ability to work in team environment;
• Flexibility and the ability to manage own workload to deadlines;
• Excellent IT skills, Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc. Experience with data visualisation software (Tableau / Power BI) would be desirable
