The team operates a partnering model in the delivery of renewables projects meaning you’ll be the legal lead responsible for the delivery of specific onshore wind or solar projects in their development, construction or operational phases and provide a proactive and commercially relevant legal service to EDF Renewables UK, all of its business units and subsidiaries.

The Role & Skills Required

You will draft, negotiate and advise on a range of complex commercial, project development, route to market (such as corporate power purchase agreements or contracts for difference), construction and/or operations contracts. Alternatively, there would be potential to specialise in one of these areas of particular interest.

You will also instruct external lawyers and manage a variety of complex legal services which may include IP, insurance, contract management, corporate compliance and others as required. This will include supporting the risk management and oversight needs of the EDF Renewables Group, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and liaising with in‐house counsel in other EDF Group offices and entities as necessary.

The Candidate

You’ll thrive in this role if you possess very strong organisational skills, are able to prioritise and enjoy working in a team environment, and can demonstrate flexibility, excellent business focus and problem-solving skills. 

You will be an accomplished lawyer with demonstrable experience, strong academic credentials, a distinguished professional record and natural business orientation.

It is essential that you are a solicitor qualified to practice Law in Scotland or England and Wales.

The successful candidate will have 4 - 8 years PQE.
