Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing all technical matters relating to the effective Plant and Equipment, Lead investigations into major asset failures and incidents using Root Cause Analysis and provide written feedback to inform the Maintenance Strategy. Drive the Critical Engineering Methodology, our Asset Performance & Energy Excellence Framework to reduce risk, breakdown and cost on site. To carry-out Technical and Quality Audits to ensure sites are technically and statutory compliant. 

Key Skills & Competencies

To provide professional control of all Electrical and Mechanical facilities / systems / works on the site

To keep abreast of Engineering Developments and Technology advancements and how they could be implemented on your site

Advise Site Technical Staff of Technical Changes advised to you by the BU / Site Technical Manager or via the CBRE Technical Bulletins

After appointment by the AE carryout/support the duties of Authorised Person (AP) HV-LV Electrical systems, Confined Space, Systems etc, dependent upon qualifications & which engineer

Provide guidance and advice on contractors RAMS for none-routine works on site, as required.

To carryout assessment of Contractors competencies, as required

Give advice on Technical Competencies required to fulfil the Maintenance requirements and, as necessary, arrange Technical Training for Site Staff

Investigate and provide Technical Reports in the event of mishaps or incidents on site, as required, ensuring that the BU Technical Manager and Divisional Technical Director/CAE are kept informed

Management and control of all technical matters relating to plant and equipment maintenance including existing equipment, new works and future upgrade works 

Identify potential technical improvements for existing plant and equipment maintenance to facilitate improved reliability and /or cost reduction with fully supported documentation

Identify and develop training plans specific to installed equipment to facilitate training of site engineers and for staff development

Ensure all matters relating to Health and Safety legislative requirements are fully documented and understood by all site staff and subcontractors involved in the maintenance of plant and equipment ensuring that advise has been taken from the CBRE Managed Services HSE Manager and BU Technical Manager

Assist in the development and adherence to method statements, ensuring best working practices are established and maintained

Work with sub-contractors involved in plant and equipment maintenance to ensure highest possible standards of maintenance are achieved

Assist client with resolution of technical matters arising from installed equipment or maintenance of this equipment taking advise from the BU/Site Technical Manager, as required.

Contribute to continuous improvement activities and support installation and modification of new equipment and systems. Participate, as required, in pre-delivery inspections, factory acceptance tests, design reviews, vendor audits, commissioning, and qualification.

Education

• Time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent

• Member of or working towards membership of relevant professional institute, e.g., CIBSE, IET

• Technical training qualifications in relevant industry recognised trade

• Recognised H&S qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH)

• Extensive computer literacy skills (excel, visio etc)

• Strong problem-solving skills, technically adept and analytical

• Self-motivated, with a high level of personal integrity

• Confident at working independently, with an ability to self-start

• Able to work well both in a team and autonomously

• Confident at working with all levels within the company

• Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills

• Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within a critical environment

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Flexible in adapting to changing priorities

• Strong written and oral communication skills with special reference to ability to communicate on technical matters to audience of varying knowledge and abilities

Knowledge

• Excellent knowledge of the operation of electrical services and plant

• Working knowledge of BMS and control theory

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in building services
