About this role

At BT, we are investing heavily in technology to provide both great services to our customers and drive internal efficiencies for our commercial and operational areas.  To help us with this, we are looking for an experienced change and communication specialist to support planning,mobilising and communicating our new vision for BT. 

Working in a team of highly skilled specialists, this role will play a lead in enabling and commuinicating  who we are, our standards,frameworks, successes and creating key change within our team and directorate.

Cross collabaoration and breaking silos is critical to who we are as a team and directorate so this role will be working closely with others in our team, directorate to deliver on our agreed roadmaps. 

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Working to develop and lead the communication strategy with our SRE & QA teams and community. 

• Bring ideas to life, provide support to the wider SRE & QA team in their change journey offering comms support to deliver the key messages for the team, the directorate and in line with our Digital Way. 

• Responsible for administration of the SRE community and other sites and tasks linked to SRE & QA licences etc. 

• Design, manage and build great stand out moments for our teams and community – whether this is SRE events or SRE & QA you will be costing, building and developing these and owning the outcomes. 

• Our partners matter – you will build great relationships with our partners and leverage their knowledge to create outcomes which drive us all forwards. 

• Data which tells a story, you will create templates and reusable content to drive great story telling for you and the whole of the SRE & QA team.

• Design and and deliver change adoption strategies to facilate and encourage adoption of key SRE iniatives.

• Identify what changes in processes, procedures and practices are needed to achieve change and deliver the planned benefits.

• Ensure that managers have the necessary information to communicate changes and their impact to their teams.

• Measure and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) affected by change. 

• Influences internally and externally, across multiple stakeholder groups including managing directors, directors, transformation and strategy teams, external analysts and vendors, building partnerships across these groups. • A proven collaborator and influencer: has a track record to engage, inspire and influence people at senior levels

 

You'll have the following skills & experience

Skills:

• Strong communicator: able to communicate complex technical information in a simple manner to a non-technical audience who is comfortable one to one or one to many across a diverse range of mediums. 

• Relationship management: Skilled in building trust with stakeholders at different levels internally and externally (at account director level with our partners)

• Technical skill: An understanding and experience of presentation and collaboration software

• To work across organizational boundaries: forming matrixed teams with various development team members, working closely with the leadership across Digital, HR, comms, and Technology partner organizations

• Team coach: Your skills should be our skills, we enable others to use and create their own standard comms by providing learning sessions and guidance. 

• Strategic mindset: Works with business unit on communicating our technical capability and creating an engagement strategy to ensure the engineering community is set up for the future

• Story-telling with data: Skilled and have a desire to learn more about building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences

• Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organizational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)

 

Experience:

• A track record of working to tight deadlines and in an environment of change. 

• Producing stand out communications across a variety of mediums and experience of social media. 

• Knowleadge of BT Standards and Processes

• Broad knowledge of and significant experience with Consumer products and services 

• Experienced in working with other senior professionals and managers across Technology on BAU, tactical and strategic pieces of work.

• Technical and operational awareness
