What you’ll do:

• Have a development focused background, ideally with experience as a UNIX system administrator at some point.
• Be involved in the development of supporting infrastructure to improve and extent our automated patching and build processes, focusing on how we extend those to support cloud-based infrastructure and enable a self-service model for our users.
• Take ownership of problems and provide methodical technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with an ability to lead and manage investigation activities, troubleshooting and identify problems across different technology areas
• Build effective working relationships with a variety of infrastructure and application teams to ensure that technology and process improvements deliver overall service improvements to our end customers.
• Passionate about sharing knowledge, collaborating, and detailing, ensuring all members of the team can learn and grow their skills.

What you’ll bring:

• Programming knowledge Python or Perl, and SQL
• SQL experience and knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB deployment
• Automation, Configuration Management and Continuous Integration using tools such as Ansible/AWX, Foreman and Jenkins.
• Software Configuration Management tools and practises – Git and/or Subversion
• Proven record of developing and deploying web services and APIs.
• Operating System patching and patching toolsets such as Spacewalk and Katello

Our spacious tech hub is under a mile away from Leeds train station. There’s also plenty of parking in the surrounding streets and at the nearby CitiPark.

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston South train station and the town centre. Plus there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.
