About this role

This is a critical regional role, leading a team of skilled professionals providing PMO expertise for major programmes along with specialised analytical reasoning to drive future value and investment. The role holder has accountability for assuring that all PMO activities relating to Fibre Cities, Retro New Sites and Demand Driven Programmes customer & business outcomes are delivered to contractually agreed milestones, timeframes and outcomes and creating a continuous improvement culture.

 The role holder will lead, motivate, empower and inspire a regional PMO delivery team (circa 20) to deliver successful customer and business outcomes ensuring contractual obligations, targets and milestones are met with E2E accountability for all PMO activity across a defined region.

 

You'll have the following responsibilities

• The completion of regional PMO activities of FND’s Major Programmes CapEx budget, private invested or commercially committed infrastructure build contracts. Assuring all PMO activities are delivered on time and maximise cost benefits.

• Providing regular PMO performance updates on both the delivery and financial progress of all programmes, to Director and senior engineering roles as appropriate to the programme.

• Supporting the region with resolution of complex issues relating to major program delivery. Working closely with other regional leads to ensure the correct processes are in place to ensure the reduction and elimination of repeat/future failures.

• Leadership Accountability: People leadership and development, including employee engagement, talent & succession planning, performance leadership, training & development, health and safety of your team.

• Identifying process and continuous improvement opportunities, executing & embedding them within the area you lead, to drive enhanced service and greater profitability for the region

• Using data to drive current and future value and the utilisation of CapEx – continuously looking to improve cost and remove waste across all Major Programmes.

• Developing analytics that underpin key infrastructure strategic programmes and investment cases, including all publicly, privately or commercially committed funded programmes.

 

You'll have the following skills & experience

• An experienced programme/project manager, able to co-ordinate across a number of simultaneous projects.

ʉۢ Advanced data skills, able to work with large complex data sets, build reporting and data visualisations, oracle SQL knowledge would be beneficial but not essential

ʉۢ Extremely high influencing skills, experienced at working with senior managers, with the ability to spot problems before they arise and take steps to treat or avoid.

ʉۢ Requirements capture, programme management techniques and articulation of tangible business outcomes to a wide senior audience.

ʉۢ Extensive understanding of Openreach network (and products).

ʉۢ An advocate of continuous improvement and ability to deliver centrally driven transformation programmes that provide business benefit.
