About this role

The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with landlords, managing agents, housing associations and councils to achieve their confirmation via a wayleave for Openreach to upgrade the broadband network in their apartment buildings to full fibre.

The MDU Professional is key to driving change and defining routes and channels to market, to reach stakeholders in order to get full fibre (FTTP) into MDUs. The role holder will engage at up to board and senior level with customers (landlords, managing agents, housing associations and councils) to gain wayleave agreement in accordance with the Openreach fibre build programme.  

You'll have the following responsibilities

As part of survey activities, you will  keep signed accounts fluid by regularly checking the status of all MDUs in the account, to ensure all are in scope and sent to survey.

You will secure asbestos registers for each MDU and obtain site access details including contact names and details or build access codes.

You will progress sites through salesforce into survey queues, using correct processes when MDU is in scope and all relevant site details obtained

You will own accountability to get surveys back from supplier in timely manner and ensure that they are sent on sent on to customer Route Approval (RA) pack. 

As part of Route Approval, you will own the responsibility to obtain Route Approvals from key contacts on completion of survey, own the responsibility to move individual MDU's to build upon RA, upload wayleave, RA and asbestos registers on to the Repository and manage escalations where Route Approvals are delayed.

Across general account admin/ activities you will lead monthly/ regular account review with clients, own the internal escalation responsibility when larger scale issues occur on Openreach/ contractor activities and own the external escalations when issues arise on customer processes which are delaying the progression of MDU.

Your people and management responsibilities will include being responsible and accountable for achieving your THP target, for alignment of accounts between specialists to ensure equal opportunity and focus on delivering to target, for forecasting of THP target accounts on a monthly/ quarterly basis and general people management responsibilities.

You'll have the following skills & experience

The ability to build and maintain relationships, both internally and externally in varying levels of an organisation, and has the ability to network

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.  Ability to influence customers at  level director level on policy and driving performance both externally and internally.

Understands the competition and deploys successful tactics to overcome, and position Openreach as the preferred supplier

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, collate, analyse and augment data in Excel and present using PowerPoint 

Ability to manage high levels of ambiguity when dealing with emerging markets, new entrants and developer strategies in order to drive change within Openreach and influence marketing strategy.

Competitor and market knowledge, including social inclusion policies led by housing associations and any strategic decisions by portfolio managing agents.  

Desirable – working knowledge of Salesforce, or experience of other CRM systems

Tenacious in using ‘social selling’ tools such as platforms like LinkedIn and internet search engines to prospect, research customers and find key decision makers
