About the Team

RDO is an established function here at TalkTalk and forms part of the wider Strategic Delivery & Results Delivery Office. We are a vibrant team driving the delivery of TalkTalk’s One Plan strategic objectives while maintaining the highest governance and control standards to ensure our business is set up for success.

About the Role

You will join the Strategic Delivery & Results Delivery Office, which oversees the successful delivery of our transformation plan. 

We are undertaking a once-in-a-generation strategic transformation – an ambitious customer-led growth plan, underpinned by a pivot to full fibre. This role is key to supporting our transformation delivery capability.

You will work closely with the Heads of Transformation, Programme and Project Managers maintaining the highest standards of change governance and control in alignment with TalkTalk’s Change Framework. As part of your role, you will also be responsible for providing maximum insight to senior stakeholders and introduce value-add activities to improve control and critical decision making.

Responsibilities 

  • Accountable for running RDO capability for various Portfolios

  • Align RDO activity for the Portfolios in line with the Change Framework, including:

-    Risks, issues, milestones, dependencies management

-    Cost and budget tracking, project forecasting and resource planning

-    Uploading monthly actual costs to our PPM tool

-    Maintaining accurate information across all projects using our PPM tool

-    Stage gating and change control

-    Facilitating delivery boards, business reviews, approval forums and other key stakeholder meetings

  • Manage Portfolio reporting - ensuring submission of quality, timely data from Project Managers & Business Leads and producing management information reports providing clear performance information to enable decision making

  • Training and coaching Project and Programme Managers in all aspects of using our PPM tool, reporting, forecasting and providing guidance on our Change Framework and associated tools and processes 

  • Conducting monthly ‘health checks’ across all projects within your portfolios to ensure the highest levels of adherence to governance requirements

  • Support all business planning activities

  • Update our SharePoint web pages and keep the project documentation storage system up to date

  • Become a subject matter expert for all delivery matters within your portfolios

  • Continuously enhance Programme and Project delivery standards through improvements to methods and templates and through training 

  • Adhere to the Change Framework and ISO:9001 requirements where relevant

The successful candidate will

  • Have prior experience in RDO, ideally with Agile or Waterfall methodology

  • Possess excellent attention to detail and be extremely well organised

  • be a confident communicator with the ability to engage with stakeholders

  • display problem solving acumen; take ownership of issues and seek to drive to resolution

  • Demonstrate a positive ‘can-do’ attitude’ and contribute to an energetic and motivated team environment

  • Focus on the customer to ensure we deliver a great service

  • Be a confident user of Excel (inc. vlookups) and PowerPoint
