Job Description

Our Mission

We're on a journey to build the bank of the future, and we need your help. We’re continuing our extensive transformation Programme, redefining what a bank is from the inside out. Become part of our diverse team, and you'll experience a rare and opening to impact the lives of more than 26 million of our customers through brands including Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Scottish Widows. We need people who can make this transformation a reality. Want to know more?

The overall vision within the Payments, Fraud & Financial Crime (PFFC) Value Stream is to promote social well-being for our customers by enabling them to make and receive payments and protect them from fraud and financial crime. We do this by supporting the Business Areas in processing compliant, fast, secure and flexible transaction management services and real time payments and addressing rising threats from social engineering by implementing new and improved ways to meet our customer’s needs.

About the role:

We're looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to work within a highly proficient and productive engineering team instilled with a team ethos of testing and delivering high quality solutions for the bank and it's customers.

What follows is what you might find our quality engineers mostly doing, but your experience will flex depending on the team’s needs, and your own aspirations.

Here’s how you can make a difference

  • Work in an Agile fashion in a team of colleagues from different fields to plan and execute highly effective testing to ensure excellent delivery quality to colleagues and customers.
  • Excitingly you can exercise your “T-Shape” capabilities to develop and further improve the expansion of our the Test Automation framework to not only deliver quality testing but in a rapid execution timeline.
  • Be part of community to learn and grow individually but also working with others to help the community improve.
  • Collaborative working with the Scrum Master and Product Owner as well as Engineers and Business Analysts building the feature team capability.

What we need from you:

  • Experience in Quality Engineering, preferably (but not necessarily) knowledge in application set. If not then experience with testing and integration or introduction of 3rd Party packages/tools.
  • Experience in a collaborative environment and preferably with a proven track record delivering business value through sound and fully rounded engineering methods and principles.
  • Experience of agile, DevOps and non-agile quality engineering practices; manual and automated testing, functional and non-functional coverage as well as documentation and defect management.
  • Technical and practical usage skills in Java, Jenkins, BDD Cucumber and Jira/Confluence

Together we'll make it possible...So what can we offer you in return?

As the Bank moves to building out a strategic roadmap, both from an application infrastructure and tooling, our Value Stream are embracing this and building capability to enable this transformation.

You'll be tackling a quality engineering role within the Screening enduring service team, supporting the development and testing of highly effective and critical sanctions screening platforms.

You'll take ownership for backlog items, from incubation to execution, reporting to stakeholders and managing the resolution of defects arising from testing. Thus ensuring high standards of delivery which are in line with expectations for Group Critical solutions.

Whatever your aspiration, you can also expect excellent benefits, personal development and a career that’s enriching and full of opportunity.

We'll offer a comprehensive package that includes:

A performance-related bonus of up to 30%

A 4% "flex" cash pot to spend on benefits (or take as cash)

Car/car allowance, colleague products and discounts

30 days holiday plus bank holidays

Private medical benefit, share schemes and generous pension contribution

Tempted to apply but something holding you back?

We ensure our workforce represents every corner of society and we celebrate diversity.

We further ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to join the application process.

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain recover. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, businesses and communities. With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we’re building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
