Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has come about for a highly motivated individual with a quality mindset to join our Quality team at Danone Balclutha factory as Quality Assurance In-process Coordinator .

In this role, you will play a key role in driving the Quality and Food Safety of the plant ensuring that it is maintained with respect to Danone Global Food Safety standards in addition to local regulations (RMP, DPC’s).

This is a 10-month Fixed Term opportunity covering Parental Leave with immediate start. You will be working on a rotating shift roster : 2 days 2 nights 4 off with availability to work on weekends.

Working hours are 6am 6pm (day shift) and 6pm 6am (night shift) .

You will :

  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) development and implementation on shop floor and provide guidance to operations on handling potential non-conformance
  • Be responsible for operator interaction on the shop floor to promote Quality and Food Safety (QFS) in production and the need for 100% quality checks
  • Implement and drive FSI requirement on shop floor with support from QFS team
  • Ensure daily verification of CCP’s / OPRP’s in relevant area
  • Follow site PRP for NCR Management and actively participate in closing identified NCR action with stakeholder and ensure avoidance of recurrence through robust corrective actions

To be successful, you will have :

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemistry / Microbiology / Food Science (or equivalent), coupled with solid QA / Manufacturing / in-process Lab experience
  • Experience in Food handling or Pathogen training , with good understanding GHP & GMP , NZFSA & FSANZ compliance requirements, auditing, ISO standards, HACCP
  • Experience in training operational staff is highly desirable
  • Strong problem-solving ability and initiative
  • Good communication skills
