We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Prime Video Living Room Player team to keep pushing the bar for high quality video streaming. We develop, test and deploy the video player components running on a vast array of devices from Smart TVs to Set top boxes and Game consoles. Living Room Player team is building and deploying optimized native components as well as platform independent, scriptable components and cloud based infrastructure to power video playback on millions of living room devices.

Key job responsibilities
Our team is looking for talented QAE to help us shape the future of video in Living Room. Your responsibility is to verify the quality of the video player components using manual and automated testing methodologies. You will have a keen eye on video and audio quality and an interest in automating its validation. You will be running manual smoke and regression tests and creating new test specifications for new customer features. You will work on maintaining existing test automation written in JavaScript and supporting infrastructure and research ways to increase the level of automation and the depth of testing.

As a QA engineer, you will be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation, business analysis and technical design through to development, testing and deployment across a variety of technologies - giving you a real sense of ownership. Prime Video is available in over 1 billion Living Room devices globally. Our team provides the playback experience for hundreds of millions weekly customer sessions. We delight our customers with new features and improvements continuously in an Agile environment. We obsess over reliability, quality and latency of playback. A successful candidate is able to learn quickly, delivers results in collaboration with other Living Room and Playback teams, insists on highest standards, has the ability to dive deep and looks at every opportunity to automate to help us operate at scale

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Working experience of manual QA process, developing new test plans for new customer features from ambiguous specifications
• Working knowledge of different test automation methods: unit, module, integration, end-to-end testing
• Confident in scripting in at least one modern language (e.g. Javascript, Swift, Java, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience in streaming technologies and testing software under varying network conditions
• Experience in reading and understanding system logs and diagnostics systems output
• An understanding of lean and agile methods of software delivery and the principles and practices of Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Strong written and verbal English communications skills.
