Job Description

As a result of continued growth across our South Canterbury centres, we are on the lookout for energetic/superstar Teachers to join us in making a positive difference in the lives of tamariki. Our newly created teaching positions will see you move around our centres within Timaru, working alongside our current teaching teams. At times there may also be shifts on offer at our Opihi and Pleasant Point centres as well.

Each day will be different as just like us, each of our centres are unique in their philosophies and the communities they support. To be successful in this role, you will love being part of the wider South Canterbury team, not afraid to roll up your sleeves and adapt to new centre environments in order to meet the needs of the business, with plenty of support from your colleagues and Area Manager.

This is a role that offers great variation and adventure and as such, we are looking for team players who can bring the following to BestStart…

  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in high regard
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum
  • Adhere to best centre practices that meet BestStart, MOE and ERO expectations
  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification – this is a must!

These are permanent part time positions with a guaranteed 20 hours per week where you will be supported by a home centre, but your day to day work will be across any one of our other neighbouring centres.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to get onboard something new, and different, and if you want to know more or think this is perfect for you to apply your teaching experience into a position that can offer you great diversity, the chance to work alongside multiple teams as well as plenty of flexibility to best suit the needs of your lifestyle then apply today, we’d love to talk with you.

Why choose BestStart?

We are NZ’s largest early childcare provider, comprised of over 265 centres right up and down the country. Having a passion for children and an understanding of their families and wider communities underlies every aspect of our organisation.

We offer a benefits package that is second to none which includes discounted childcare, subsided health insurance, a uniform and plenty of opportunities for advancement. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive team – we encourage our people to bring their unique selves to work. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you are passionate about making a difference then you belong here!

If this role sounds like you then please apply directly via this advertisement. Or for a confidential conversation, reach out to Stacey Kerrigan – Area Manager 02718000656
