We’re responsible for designing and building internal platforms and services to enable our OTT engineering teams as well as delivering an Automation Centre of Excellence. You’ll drive the automation strategy and implementation across the mobile departments and build tooling/frameworks to deliver key capabilities for our Global Video & Engineering Apps teams” – Senior Engineering Manager

What you’ll do:

Be the responsible for the creation and delivery of large-scale, software automation frameworks central to key propositions running on a global scale

Lead teams of mobile engineers and automation QAs in order to build these frameworks and tests – some from the ground up

Significantly grow the level of automation in OTT, so as to include end-to-end testing, production testing and on-device testing when possible, while reducing the limiting factors of manual testing in our SDLC

Manage (including line manage) multiple teams and be responsible for their delivery, including planning and road-mapping, as well as running daily ceremonies

Find and resolve blockers to more automation in the department and in the wider group

Enable ownership of automation in CI within the delivery teams

Be an ‘Automation Champion’: a person who attends industry meet-ups and brings knowledge back to the team as well as promoting our own expertise

Play a key role in defining group-wide strategy, influencing both the business and technology

What you’ll bring:

A solid understanding of software test automation, with a strong background in mobile test automation

Strong knowledge and experience in building automation frameworks and implementing them on on-premise and cloud infrastructure

Experience in virtualisation of computer resources, as well as in managing CI infrastructure

Experience in engaging with, setting up and running Proof of Concepts or Proof of Value exercises with third-party providers; e.g. SaaS, Paas, hardware vendors

Some familiarity or experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and parallelising automation with containers

Deep knowledge of one or more than one CI management tool; e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI, Concourse, TeamCity, GitLab

Experience working closely with DevOps and site reliability engineers, to ensure the highest availability of systems and services

Experience with managing delivery and prioritising conflicting requirements, with effective communication that encourages collaboration and teamwork

The Office:

Our Osterley campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Chiswick Park, Gunnersbury, Acton Town and Ealing Broadway tube stations. There’s also plenty of parking, bike shelters and showers.
