To be aware of the residents' dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
To ensure all kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery and equipment are correctly cleaned and put away after use.
To assist in the preparation and serving of beverages to visitors if required.
To dispose of waste correctly.
To assist in preparing special diet meals (i.e. pureed or diabetic) under the cooks instructions.
To assist in the cleaning of all kitchen areas and storerooms (floors, cookers etc).
To assist in ensuring a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food hygiene and to ensure that safe working practices are followed.
To report any problems to the Manager on Duty.
Assist in stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries.
Attending training courses as appropriate.
To ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable goods.
To ensure that all food stuff is stored and labelled correctly.
To contribute to the serving of food.
To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.
