The Project Support Apprenticeship Programme:
We’re recruiting for Project Support Apprentices to work as part of one of the most exciting projects at EDF: the construction of Hinkley Point C (HPC) power station in Somerset.
This 21-month apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain a Level 3 Business Administration Advanced qualification whilst spending time in different departments of the HPC project. You’ll experience a variety of roles that will help you develop a wide range of transferable business skills that will set you up for your future career.
Gaining a recognised qualification and business experience will open the door to a range of opportunities within EDF, including opportunities such as:
Training, development and support for you:
During the training programme your time will be split between studying at college and learning on the job in our business.
You’ll attend the National College for Nuclear in Cannington, Somerset, one day a week and study remotely using BlackBoard, the College's virtual learning environment.
Within HPC, you’ll spend time working with the Business Performance & Digital Hub team in our Aztec West office (Bristol) and the Pre-Operations team (near Bridgwater).
The Business Performance & Digital Hub is responsible for maintaining the IT systems that enable HPC to operate day to day. The Pre-Operations team is responsible for developing all areas required to operate a nuclear power station for the 60 years planned lifetime of the station. Your placements in these areas will offer the chance to perform a variety of tasks that will positively contribute to your own personal development, knowledge and experience.
You’ll have plenty of support along the way too – from your Tutors at National College for Nuclear, to your EDF Career Manager and our Early Careers team; as well as face-to-face support at our on-site Apprentice Hub and digital access to relevant information, learning and care.
Head to our Careers website for more information about Apprentice life at EDF.
Where you’ll work:
The base for this role is Bridgwater, Somerset, for easy access to the college and HPC construction site. You’ll need to live within commuting distance of Bridgwater and we can provide more information during the recruitment process.
