Job Description

We are looking for a mid-level Project Manager to join our team. You will play an active role in the management, development and deployment of our counter design concepts within stand-alone boutiques, department stores and our travel retail locations. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager Store Architecture, you will also assist the Architects delivering high quality luxury environments for our customers.

You are a diverse and flexible Project Manager with a good knowledge of bespoke furniture production, the ability to review technical plans, manage Indirect Procurement, and have a keen eye for detail.


What impact you can create at Chanel:

  • Work with true artisans and construction professionals to resolve technical issues and manage construction to deliver outstanding retail environments
  • Review technical construction plans and guide development.
  • To assist with project and capacity planning
  • Be responsible at all times for the critical path and program, ensuring delivery of projects on time
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with other in-house teams to ensure delivery to site of all necessary displays and equipment
  • Assist with keeping all tracking and monitoring tools updated, e.g., tender returns, cost trackers and final accounts
  • Monitor and keep up to date our multiple produced stock items
  • Keep supplier information updated to ensure insurances, memberships of trade bodies, FSC certification etc are current
  • Review furniture at Shopfitters or in store and produce as required snagging lists, track and ensure completion of snagging to the required standard
  • Creation of purchase orders, track and validate payments.
  • Produce detail guidelines for the alignment and correct interpretation of designs for our suppliers
  • Drive sustainability within our production.

What you can bring to the team

  • You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of construction/carpentry knowledge in the retail sector.
  • A background in bespoke furniture production would be beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical construction drawings, produce technical guidelines using AutoCAD
  • Additional knowledge in metal fabrication, painting and lighting would be an advantage.
  • Show a keen interest and enthusiasm in furniture and retail design, as well as related innovation
  • Strong analytical skills, highly organised, studious, diligent and thorough
  • Highly demanding nature in terms of execution, to ensure required quality is achieved
  • A sharp understanding of brand design codes and identity
  • Worked across multi geographies with a truly open mindset
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft office suite
  • Intermediate skills in Sketchup would be a benefit
  • Bachelor’s degree in furniture making and technology or industrial design with one to three years’ experience in the shop fitting or furniture making industry.
  • Team player mindset with the ability to confidently work autonomously
  • Working experience in a luxury cosmetic group would be desirable.
