You’ll have a core focus on horizontal civil construction and maintenance projects - Think streetscapes, bridges, roads and the like.  Our Transport team is developing rapidly and need the support of Project Engineers to bolster the team during this upcoming growth phase.  This exciting step on your career journey will see you be a core part of a results driven, professional & reliable team.

About the Role
Based in Tauranga and working across the wider Bay of Plenty region, you’ll help deliver to our growing number of civil construction and maintenance projects. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of all aspects of the end-to-end horizontal civil construction, ensuring they run efficiently and deliver optimum outcomes. 
As Project Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and updating project budgets and programmes
  • Working alongside the Project Manager to estimate and tender for new projects
  • Advising and leading Site Engineers, onsite delivery teams as well as sub-contractors
  • Having ownership of all project documentation
  • Developing and fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers

About you
You’ll bring with you your excellent problem solving ability along with proven practical experience in a contracting environment that supports HSQE as well as a current, full driver's license and a formal civil engineering qualification (e.g. BE, BEngTech, NZDE). We’d also value:

  • Experience in a similar civil engineering position
  • Experience and understanding of financial management, budget management and reporting
  • Clear demonstration of leadership behaviours that empowers others
  • Be a self-starter, highly motivated and goal oriented
  • A good health and safety related track record
