About the team

The Infrastructure and Place division is charged with the delivery of an ambitious and once-in-a generation program of public infrastructure works. We are developing and delivering smart, integrated and sustainable infrastructure and places that are valued by our customers and communities.

The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Project Engineer to contribute to the wider Project Management team in the development, delivery and management of large scale, complex, multi-discipline projects within a program of work with defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints.

The position will be based in Wollongong and will be a fixed term role till 31/12/2023.

What you will be involved in:

Contribute to the oversight of nominated projects by providing project management assistance for specific projects to enable projects to be completed on time and within scope objectives.

Support the control, administration and delivery of contracts and assist the Superintendent's representative on selected contracts to ensure the effective delivery of contract works.

Develop project briefs for Professional Service providers and internal service units to assist with the management of design and investigation process and to support quality design.

Support the implementation of TfNSW's procedures, guidelines, processes and practices to maintain a high level of WH&S, Industrial Relations, environmental management and quality on projects/contracts.

Provide timely and accurate project reports and briefing papers for management, develop and maintain quality records, and undertake research to contribute to the effective management of projects.

Model collegiate and collaborative behaviours to achieve the greater good for the community, celebrate a diverse workforce, create an environment where people can innovate and thrive, and support people's wellbeing.

About you

We are after a Project Engineer who is looking to further develop their skills across the entire project lifecycle while thriving in an environment of constantly competing priorities and managing these priorities to enable completion of projects while delivering day to day tasks in the required timeframes. Essentially, you don't shy away from doing hard work and are always available to support your peers. Some background in government will serve you well to understand our complex environment and customer focus, however this isn't essential. Most importantly, you are a team player who is able to communicate effectively with stakeholders to approach various challenges as they arise.

Essential requirements:

Possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and willingness to work outside normal working hours and travel on occasion.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is Engineering Level 2 ($118,516 - $ 127,409) per annum plus superannuation depending on your level of experience
