About the team

 

The Pinch Points Program  is part of the broader Easing Sydney Congestion Program which develops and delivers improved traffic flows, reduced congestion, improved active transport options and pedestrian safety. These targeted initiatives provide more reliable traffic flows and consistency of travel times for motorists, freight and public transport; improving access and connectivity for active transport and improved safety and amenity for road users, local community and business.

The Pinch Points Program is delivered by a dynamic team of 50+ project management professionals responsible for both the development and the delivery of these congestion busting programs with a proactive outcomes based culture.

 

 

The opportunity

 

We now have multiple opportunities for Project Engineers to join us for fixed term contracts through to 28/06/2024 with a possibility of extension. The work we do is vital in assisting Sydney’s economic development and, it’s the technical expertise and the depth of knowledge of our people that really sets us apart.  Here are some of the things you will be involved in:

 

Development of projects through the Strategic, Concept and Detailed Design Phases as well as overseeing development of business cases, environmental planning documents and preparing for delivery procurement

Manage parts of construction projects within the relevant work package to assist the project managers in the delivery of plan, schedule, milestones and key deliverables;

Assess and report on the implementation of plans to ensure that management plans for sites are appropriately implemented;

Undertake routine site activities including surveillance of contract works, and maintain detailed site records of work performed and construction activities to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with contract documents;

Review and check technical designs and drawings and oversee building and construction work to ensure that designs are followed correctly and provide technical information for monthly reporting purposes;

About you

To be successful in these roles you will have:

Tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience

A proven track record working on large scale infrastructure projects with onsite experience

Knowledge and experience of construction principles including time, cost, quality and safety in construction

Knowledge and understanding of project management and contract administration process, especially GC21 

Knowledge and experience of quality assurance in civil construction with an understanding of quality management principles, WHS, traffic management and environment management.

Rail Systems knowledge and expertise specifically in Comms, Radio, Signalling, SCADA or Electrical is beneficial

Strong track record in stakeholder management.

 

 

Salary and benefits 

 

The salary for this position is Engineering Level 2 ($118,516- $127,409) plus superannuation, depending on the level of experience
