About the team

 

Delivery Infrastructure focuses on embedding a clear pipeline of infrastructure projects to help support and deliver new station developments, upgrades and the delivery of clean, reliable and user-friendly products and services that support the overall Customer Environment.

 

The opportunity

 

You will be responsible for design, development, and delivery of improved Customer Information systems which are aligned with stakeholder requirements and organisational goals, ensuring alignment to the core business deliverables and integration of the Metro Central, Martin Place and South West projects.

 

Specifically, the Project Engineer will be required to deliver a new set of Real-Time Visual Customer Information systems and to liaise with Sydney Metro to ensure the systems are delivered per approved Metro design as well as minimising impact to existing Sydney Trains Information Systems (with particular focus on Central and Martin Place).

 

The main responsibilities for the Project Engineer are, but not limited to:

Assist project delivery team to ensure that projects are delivered cost effectively, provide value for money and are implemented to agreed time, cost and quality standards within the Sydney Trains Project Governance framework

Support Metro Integration projects in designing and delivering Real-Time Visual Customer Information systems, including contributing to planning, scoping and scheduling of projects to ensure solutions meet agreed time, cost and quality requirements and align to business objectives

Provide high-level technical system support and technical input including designing, testing and installing systems to ensure solutions are delivered efficiently and issues are resolved effectively, including out of hours support

Investigate, diagnose and propose options to resolve equipment malfunctions or escalate them to the appropriate internal or external staff according to agreed service levels and standards to troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively

Coordinate the deployment of software and firmware upgrades and/or patches on equipment and maintain knowledge of changes in technology and systems to enable continuity of

About you

 

You will have a background in a similar Project based role where you have familiarity with rail IT or Operational technology. You will preferably have experience in the installation and integration of Electronic Information systems. You will have prior experience in implementing innovation or continuous improvement initiatives that improve project outcomes.

 

Desirable:

Demonstrated experience in the installation of complex and intricate IT or Real-Time Information systems and knowledge of a broad range of relevant technologies.

Demonstrated experience in configuring computers, network devices and equipment in a complex business and physical public transport environment

Demonstrated understanding of project management discipline and methodology

 

Salary and benefits

 

The salary for this position is RC Grade 5 ($106,653-$123,022) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
